Washington Lake Construction LLC wants every visitor to be able to use builtbywlc.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or captions.

The standard we aim for

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted benchmark for making web content usable by people with disabilities.

What we do

• Write text alternatives for meaningful images.
• Label form fields so assistive technology can announce them.
• Keep text and background colors at readable contrast levels.
• Make pages operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
• Use headings and page structure in a logical order.
• Set the page language so screen readers pronounce content correctly.

Known limitations

We are being straightforward about where the site falls short today.

• Customer testimonial videos do not yet have captions. We are working on adding them. In the meantime, we will send a written transcript of any testimonial video on request, at no charge, by phone or email.

Parts of the site may also rely on services we do not control, such as embedded media players and web fonts. We choose accessible options where we can.
